DR. GLEN PUTMAN

Dr. Glen Putman has been a pastor since he surrendered to the ministry in 1973.   He has served Southern Baptist Churches in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, and now Arkansas.  Before coming to Walnut Street, he served as the Minister of Biblical Guidance at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN.  He has degrees from Mississippi State, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and Blue Mountain College.   He also has a wife, Diane, and a son, Rhyne and daughter-in-law Micah.

Minister of Music

KEITH BAKER 

Keith Baker has been serving Walnut Street Baptist Church as Minister of Music since December of 2005.  After several years away, Baker returned to Walnut Street where in the past, he served as Properties Manager and Children's Minister. Now in the music ministry, Keith found Walnut Street a perfect fit when returning home.  He is married to Denilla, and they have two children: Taylor and Hayley.

JEFF TAPP

Jeff Tapp came on staff at Walnut Street as Student Minister in the winter of 2003.  Jeff is the minister to junior and senior high school students.  He and his wife April came on board in March, 2003. 

Jeff is a native of Newport, AR.  He obtained his degree from Lyon College and is currently pursuing a Master Of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Little Rock.

Minister to Senior Adults

CURTIS SHATLEY 

Curtis Shatley has been serving Walnut Street Baptist Church since May of 1983.   God has used him to open up many windows of ministry opportunity, and for 22 years, Curtis served as Minister of Music.  In December 2005, Curtis changed directions when he became the Minister to Senior Adults.

Children's Director

ELLEN DEATON

Ellen has been a member of Walnut Street for two decades.  During these years she has been very active by teaching both in the children and youth Sunday School classes.  For the past five years she has served as the Children's Director.  The duties of directing the preschool area have been hers for the past two years.

Ellen holds a BSE degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Arkansas State University.   She has fifteen years experience as a classroom teacher.  Ellen and her husband, David, have two adult children, Aaron and Amy.
