On Love A man making his
way to a county fair had a pig under one arm, a chicken under the other,
and a basket on his head. He met a young girl and he asked for
directions. She said if you go by the roads it is 3 miles, but it is only
1 mile if you know the shortcut through the woods. Would you lead me
through the shortcut. She said oh no, if we went through the woods you
might try to kiss me. He responded how would I kiss you with a pig and
chicken under my arms and a basket on my head. She retorted, you could
put the chicken under the basket and I could hold that ole pig for you. Biblical love is
described as a decision making process. Jesus told his followers to love
their enemies. Now it is hard to get emotionally involved with your
enemies, but you can get decisive on how you will treat them. Remember
mature love means making the right decisions. After right decisions,
there comes right feelings.
