On Meaning In an old
communist regime a man noticed two workers one day. The first man would
dig a hole. Then the other man would fill it in. He watched them for
hours as they continued to do their work. He couldn’t stand it any longer
and he went up to them and asked them what they were doing. One man said,
we plant trees for a living, but the man who puts the tree in hole was
sick today. Have you ever
felt that there was no meaning in your job? No real purpose in what you
are doing? The apostle Paul
said, "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to
men." (Col 3:23) No matter your
station in life, you should know that the way you do things is a testimony
of who God is in your life. Never work as if no one will ever notice.
The Lord is always watching. Work like you are doing His business. Remember your
labor is not in vain!
