On Prayer

While I was in seminary, one day a class was getting ready for a big exam.  One of the students was called on to pray before the exam and he prayed, “Lord we are not looking for a miracle, just help us recall what we have learned.”  At the end of the prayer, another student, said, “You pray like you want, but I’m praying for a miracle.”

Sometimes we as Christians sell God short on the way He answers prayers.  The scripture teaches that He wants to give us the desires of our heart.  Jesus said,           "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? "Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Remember God has already given you His best in giving His only begotten Son, Jesus.  He loves you that much.  So ask for what you really need.
