On Service A government surveyor came to a backwoods farm one day and promptly told the farmer that he was going to survey his back pasture. The farmer said you can not do that right now. The surveyor was angered, and he said, I am going to survey right now. I’m from the government, it is my job, and I have the authority. He pulled some papers from his brief case, and showed him his official authority. The surveyor made his way to the pasture and started to set up his equipment when he heard the snorting of a bull. He turned around and found a big Brahman bull charging him. The surveyor started running for his life. The farmer was up on the hill and he yelled at the surveyor, “Show the bull your papers.” Grasping for authority will put you into some predicaments. Jesus gave the greatest example of how a person is to be promoted in life. That is to be a servant-leader. If you want to find greatness, learn the principles of servant hood. |
